What is a Nursing Necklace?

A nursing necklace is a nursing or breastfeeding necklace is worn by mum whilst she breastfeeds her baby. It can also be used for a bottle-fed baby and can therefore be worn by Dad also!! The basic function of a nursing necklace is to keep your baby’s attention whilst they feed, to try to prevent the inevitable hair pulling, glasses being removed, pinching and scratching and looking around the room. Nursing necklaces hold beads in a variety of colours, shapes and patterns. Contrasting colour patterns are great for a young infant’s developing eyesight.

Safety

My necklaces are specifically made with safety in mind from fun colourful and attractive non-toxic acrylic beads. I do not use dangerous glass beads that may chip or wooden beads that may splinter. The necklaces are strung on Pro Line braid that has a breaking strain of 13.64kg (30lbs) and are secured very strongly using a knotting method and then secured with glue the ends of the thread are then taken back through the beads and knotted and glued again to ensure maximum safety.

This is not a toy and due to the risk of strangulation, a baby or young child must never wear it. It is recommended that it is only ever worn by a sensible adult. Whilst every effort is made to ensure the safety of the products Booby & The Beads cannot be held responsible for any injury caused by the products. By buying from me you agree to take responsibility for the proper use of this product, ensuring full supervision at all times. When you are not wearing your necklace it must be kept out of the reach and sight of children. While safety is in the forefront with my designs, like anything it can pose a risk when used incorrectly.

Other Items Available:

• Breastfeeding Reminder Bracelets – these help to remind you which side to feed your baby next. They can have any wording you like but the best reminder is “This Side/Boob Next”.

• Dummy/Toy Clips – a lovely way to keep your baby’s dummy safe & off the floor or to avoid losing those precious toys. These can be made 3 different ways:

1) Loops at both ends
2) Loop at one end & plastic clip at the other end
3) Loop at one end & silicone ring for dummies without handles

• Children’s Necklaces and Bracelets – so they can be just like mummy. Due to small parts these products are not suitable for children under 36 months.

• Emergency Contact/Medical ID Bracelets & Keyrings – just add your mobile number and if your child is ever lost you are only a phone call away or if they have a medical condition I can add this instead to make others aware if they ever have problems. The keyrings can hold more information so you can add a medical condition, other wording and a phone number as well. These work for adults as well as children. Due to small parts these products are not suitable for children under 36 months.

• Genuine Baltic Amber Teething Necklaces – a natural way to help alleviate teething pains.

• Keyrings – personalised or plain bead key ring. Due to small parts these products are not suitable for children under 36 months.

All of the items can be personalised with a name or any other wording. A date of birth can also be added (excluding dummy clips and key rings). Items can be made in either my or your choice of colours. Photographs can be seen on my Facebook page.
