A Great Year

Many will remember 2012 for the Diamond Jubilee celebrations and the amazing London Olympics.

These were both phenomenal events that helped to raise the profile and spirit of the country.

So, as we head towards 2013, I ask, what did you achieve this year, have you raised the profile and profitability of your business are you feeling uplifted?

If your answer is unfortunately no, 2012 has really just drifted by, I’ve not done anything special and my life isn’t any better than it was at the start of the year: – then don’t despair, put that behind you and start looking ahead to 2013. Start taking action to ensure you get the life you want in the next 12 months.

You may want to lose weight, become fitter or stop smoking. Maybe you would like to gain a qualification or new skills, achieve greater work-life balance or expand your business. Or your goal might be to increase your confidence, find a new partner or contribute more to your community. The possibilities are endless and only you can decide what would really make a difference.

It’s important that we make changes and achieve our goals as staying dissatisfied with our lives can make us emotionally unwell. So why don’t we all just go ahead and alter the things that are making us miserable?

Often it’s because we are fearful of change. We get stuck in our comfort zone and give ourselves reasons why it is better to stay where we are, even if that makes us unhappy. This is a common thought pattern but with the right support and attitude,  we can make big changes in our lives at work and at home.

Over time, I have personally left relationships, started new ones, developed additional interests and taken my work in a new direction. Once I started to take action, I moved from feeling like a helpless victim to becoming an empowered person, taking control of my life, and you could do the same.

New Year is traditionally a time to make resolutions and set goals for the year ahead. Lots of these last only a matter of days or weeks however, so it’s important to gain support, inspiration and motivation if you are to stay on track. Personal Development Specialists such as Fields of Change (www.fieldsofchange.co.uk) can help you achieve what you want in 2013. So, don’t delay, don’t stay dissatisfied and stuck making excuses, Make 2013 A Great Year- Good Luck.
