Teeth Whitening Specifics

Your teeth whitening session begins when we set up the mobile spa in your home or office. The spa features a state of the art laser diode lamp and a comfortable, fully adjustable treatment table. A consultation in the form of a checklist and questionnaire is completed before the whitening session begins and any questions that you may have can be answered during this time. After the consultation, your tooth color is recorded and the teeth whitening procedure begins.

At least 16 teeth are whitened, including the upper and lower incisors (8 total), canines (4 total), and the pre-molars (4 total), for a combined total of 8 lower and 8 upper teeth. The amount of teeth whitened can vary from person to person; however, generally all of the teeth that you can see when you smile will be treated.

Once you are in a comfortable position, we provide protective glasses and apply a whitening gel to each tooth individually. We position the lamp and turn it on for 15-20 minutes the first time, and then twice more, for a total of 45-60 minutes. During this time the lamp emits a warm blue glow that activates the whitening gel. The lamp also has antibacterial benefits and is effective against the light sensitive bacteria that can exist even after using a mouth wash. In fact, you can see this type of blue light technology in use in some hospitals and on most of the latest drinking fountains!

For two people having their teeth whitened, you will need to allow 3 hours total, including an hour each of whitening, 30 minutes for setup and the consultations, and then another 30 minutes for post-consultation and cleanup.

After the Procedure Over the next 24 hours we advise that you avoid any strongly coloured foods and /or drinks, as well as coloured toothpaste and coloured mouthwash. Normal white fluoride toothpaste and clear or almost clear mouthwash is best. We will provide you with a list of foods and products you should avoid, as well as alternatives.

Maintaining Your Whitening You can maintain your whiter teeth by using good toothpaste and by avoiding any that feel slightly abrasive, including powders. Chew sugar-free gum after consuming sweet foods, sweet drinks, coffee, strong tea, cigarettes and meals to prevent stains from building up between brushings.

For extra whitening, you can purchase an aftercare kit for £20 or £15 with a teeth whitening procedure which includes a mini sonic toothbrush, mini toothpaste and a teeth whitening gel pen. Please specify when booking if you require the aftercare kit.
