The Daisy Foundation Tunbridge Wells and Rother- Daisy Birthing and Daisy Baby classes

Full Description

Daisy Birthing Active Antenatal™ Classes

Our all inclusive Active Antenatal™ method is a ground breaking, effective and all encompassing pregnancy class helping you to learn your antenatal education and active birth techniques in a truly effective way – anchored to your breath, your body and your movement – exactly where you will need it on your baby’s birthing day.

Our use of repetitive gentle flowing moves, incorporating some of our trademark “Rotate to Dilate” and “Accelerator Pedal” birth-orientated positions will have you riding the waves of labour with ease

Classes support you on your journey as your baby grows with powerful, practical antenatal education and support.

Daisy Birthing® will help you stay active in pregnancy, ease those pregnancy symptoms and prepare you for a confident and calmer birth.

Classes can be started from 14 weeks of pregnancy and are taught over a six-week term. Women can do as many terms as they wish until baby is born to help with muscle memory so that the techniques become inherent during labour.

Plus you feel all the benefits through pregnancy too.

You’ll enjoy:

  • Antenatal education
  • Active birth awareness
  • An easy way to understand medical induction and interventions
  • Flowing movement sequences anchored to your body and breath
  • Breathing techniques for every stage of labour.
  • Relaxation techniques and gentle birth hypnosis
  • Make strong friendships

Classes are supportive of all birth choices and are adapted to suit (and in many cases help with) most pregnancy conditions and ailments.

The second day covers born baby care, including bathing, dressing, changing nappies etc . We facilitate lots of open discussion about what works for different parents. The workshop covers what to expect in the “Fourth Trimester” as baby adjusts to their new world, and includes lots of calming and soothing techniques to help baby and his/her parents to adjust to their new world. We also cover basic baby safety and accident prevention. In addition you have the opportunity to learn about more in-depth subjects such as Vitamin K, delayed cord clamping and the benefits of skin-to-skin. Within the workshop you will learn the importance of the ‘golden hour’ and what you can do to gently help your baby’s transition to the outside world. There is also a comprehensive breastfeeding session.

This workshop is a very practical guide for both expectant Mum & her birth partner to learn more about the birth process, what labouring Mum will need and how her birth partner can support her.

Suitable as a stand alone Workshop or as a complement to Daisy Birthing classes.

They are run every 6-7 weeks – contact me for dates.
