A few words about me..

My name is Lindsey Benson, I am a proud mother of two boys and I am the founder of The Birthing Shirt Company, a brand new online retail company. Having identified the desire by many women for a garment specifically created to meet a woman's childbirth needs, partly due to their genuine worry about compromising their dignity, I set about designing a shirt that would give expectant mothers birth confidence, because they would feel more prepared and more in control of their birthing experience. Having failed to find the ideal garment after two births, it was during my maternity leave that I decided to establish a company that could produce a better alternative. It soon became clear through research into high performance eco-fabrics that bamboo would be perfect for a birthing shirt. Bamboo grass is the fastest growing plant in the world and requires very few pesticides, making it really eco-friendly. After working closely on the design development with expert maternity wear manufacturers, the bamboo birthing shirt was born.
