Strikers Girls Football Academy

Strikers is a girls only football coaching academy based currently in Muswell Hill, North London.
The sessions will be for girls only. We believe this will open our sessions to a whole group of girls who are keen to play football but, for a variety of reasons, don’t feel able to even at a young age because of sessions where the majority of players are boys. The sessions will be predominantly skill and small games based aiming at an early age to introduce the game and fundamental concepts while at an older age concentrating on developing skills and their context. But most importantly the sessions will be FUN with an emphasis on teamwork.
Although no competitive games will be played, Strikers Girls Football Academy aims to provides vital grass roots level skills based female football which is greatly needed to ensure a successful progression to competitive games. With the support of Middlesex FA Development Officer, as well as the local football teams, Barnet FC, Enfield FC and Arsenal Ladies.
Many Primary schools do have a girls football team, however FA statistics show that there is a large drop out rate with girls aged from 8- 10yrs and the breakdown between school teams and affiliated clubs prevents any progression.
With these core reasons for dropout and Rachel’s experience first hand of the barriers and struggles for a female to play football, Strikers has been developed with the vision of provide coaching specifically tailored, in a fun way for girls to get involved in our national game.
