Julie Bowie is the Rosemary franchise partner in Oxford and joined the network in February 2012. With previous experience in business administration, Julie decided to study for a degree in Business Accounting & Statistics when she and her husband David moved to Oxford for David’s new job.

Not only did Julie graduate with a First Class Honours degree, she was awarded a prize for being the highest achiever and top of the year in the statistics module. Since then, Julie has undertaken part of a post graduate diploma with the Chartered Institute of Management Accountants.

On working with Rosemary Bookkeeping, Julie says, “Since I enjoy accounts and working with figures, it made sense to look at a bookkeeping business I could run from home. We visited the National Franchise Exhibition in Birmingham where we met the Rosemary team and an existing franchise partner. We found the experience extremely helpful and realised we could work well with Rosemary. As a new venture, it is exciting setting the business up, learning new skills and building working relationships with clients.”

Alison Buck is another Rosemary franchise partner who started running the Swindon territory in January 2012. Alison doesn’t have any qualifications in bookkeeping or accounting, but her drive and determination to gain new skills has never stopped her ambition to grow. “I first got into bookkeeping when I started work again after having my second daughter. I saw a job advertised for a personal secretary at a nearby golf club, which involved manual bookkeeping. Despite having no experience of this, I managed to convince the proprietor that I was sure I could learn everything they required. I haven’t looked back since.”

The Rosemary Bookkeeping franchise is based on a successful bookkeeping business established in 2002.
